After last weekend’s races at Silverstone providing a mix of emotions, Luke Mossey is now ready to enjoy the end of the season, starting at Oulton Park this weekend.

Silverstone saw Mossey miss out on a Showdown position after finishing the weekend seventh in the Championship standings, 27 points behind Honda’s Jason O’Halloran. However, Mossey has put this in the past and with races at Oulton Park coming around instantly, it means there is no time to think about what could’ve been. “Last weekend my back was still sore and I was physically drained by the end of it. It was shame to miss out on the Showdown, but I can’t change that now and it’s in the past,” said Mossey ahead of this weekend’s racing.

“I’ve been working with the physio this week and it will probably be at least a month until I’m fully fit again. So this weekend will be about racing without any pressure and enjoying it.”

Round three of the BSB 2017 season was at Oulton Park and Mossey finished fifth and third. He will be hoping he can put in similar performances as he pushes for podiums.

“I’m going in to the end of the season with no pressure and will take it as an opportunity to learn. We’re going to test a couple of things on the bike and see if they work ready for next season.

“As always I’ll be looking to get on the podium and finish strongly. If it happens that I ruin the top six standings, then that will be even more enjoyable,” said a jubilant Mossey.

Oulton Park is the first race of the Showdown and with only three more rounds to go an action-packed weekend of racing is guaranteed.
