Luke Mossey is determined to get his 2017 season back on track in Assen this weekend, 29 September-01 October.

Last time on the tarmac at Oulton Park, Mossey pulled out of race one after four laps. This was due to the rider wanting to be careful in the wet conditions and not risk his broken back any further.

To make sure he can end the season on a high and finish in the same form he started, Mossey has been continuing his recovery to get back to full strength.

Speaking ahead of the race in the Netherlands, the only one of the season outside of the United Kingdom, Mossey said: “We’ve enjoyed good results at the TT Circuit Assen in the past as the track really suits my riding style. It’s the only opportunity we get in BSB to compete outside the UK and I always look forward to it.

“I can’t wait to get back on the bike; I only pulled out of racing at Oulton Park because the conditions were unfavorable and I’ve still got a broken back so I need to be careful. It’s not like a finger or an arm – it can potentially be a life-changing injury and I wasn’t willing to risk my health for the sake of one round.”

As always, Mossey will go into the penultimate race of the season with every intention of battling it out at the front of the race and competing for a podium finish.

“I’m determined to get back on the podium before the end of the season. I know what I can do on the bike and, although it’s been frustrating to have narrowly missed out on the Showdown, these things happen in motorcycle racing and I’ve got to move on and put that behind me,” said Mossey.

There’s only one aim in Mossey’s mind for the rest of the 2017 season. He said: “I have no chance of winning the title this year so I have nothing to lose. My aim now is to be the Showdown spoiler everyone’s been talking about and win a trophy before the end of year so I can end 2017 on a high and start preparing for next season.”
