Mossey confident going into Assen qualifying

Luke Mossey and the Quattro Plant TECcare Kawasaki team had a testing time in today’s Free Practice sessions at Assen for round 11 of the British Superbike Championship (BSB).

In the morning session the Kawasaki ZX-10R suffered from gearbox issues and the 24-year old from Royston could only put in six laps in during the 45-minute session. “We had an issue, it’s just one of those things. I came back to the pits and the team spent most of the session working on the bike. I managed to get a couple of hot laps in and finished sixth on the timesheet so we’re happy,” said Mossey.

Between the two sessions the team worked hard to get the bike working and ready to race. His afternoon session was much improved and he managed to post a time of 1:36.959, which saw him place fifth on the timesheet.

“We put in a race stint so I was out there for a lot of laps. We came back in and the gearbox wasn’t working that great, but we put on the softer compound tyre and went out for another quick lap and the time was great,” explained Mossey.

The team enjoys racing at Assen and have enjoyed success there in the past. Mossey is hoping he can carry that momentum through to tomorrow’s qualifying. “We’re putting a new gearbox on the bike now and we know we have much more to give tomorrow, so we’re confident we can get on the rostrum here!” he said.
