British Superbike rider Luke Mossey is entering the final round of the BSB Championship this weekend with one aim: taking a trophy home.

It’s been the toughest season of the JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider’s career, with injuries and technical issues with his bike throughout – but Mossey knows how to battle, and will be putting everything into this weekend’s triple-header at Brands Hatch GP Circuit on 12-14 October.

The fact that the traditional end to the season is at the Kent circuit is a bonus for Mossey who sees it as a home track, having won both races there at round two in 2017.

“I’m looking forward to the weekend. It’s the last round of the season – which I can’t believe – and we want to finish it on a high. I really like Brands Hatch and we’ve had great results there in the past,” said Mossey ahead of the racing.

Mossey has been desperate for a strong result all season, and it’s testament to his competitive edge and professionalism that the rider is still pushing for that all-important podium.

“It’s no secret that we’ve not had the best season, but I’ve never lost focus despite all the setbacks. We’re going into the weekend with the aim of getting a rostrum. I want to come home with a trophy and shake a few things up in the Showdown – with it being a triple-header, we’ve got a few chances,” he explained.

Mossey’s teammate Leon Haslam could well be crowned the 2018 British Superbike Champion this weekend, needing only 14 points from the three races to win it all. Whilst Mossey will wish his teammate all the best, he will hope to be a spoiler in the pack.

It remains to be seen whether Mossey will deliver, but one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be the biggest weekend yet.
