“Luke Mossey staked his claim for a 2016 MCE British Superbike Showdown spot at Thruxton with another podium finish…” Bike Sport News July 2016
Luke Mossey – Biography
Luke Mossey is the future of motorcycle racing on the national and international stage.
In 2017, at only 24 years of age, Luke Mossey will be entering his third season in the MCE British Superbike Championship as part of Pete Extance’s Bournemouth Kawasaki team.
The 2017 season will be a great opportunity for Mossey to excel in the BSB Championship as the team will have full factory support and run under the name of JG Speedfit Kawasaki. Mossey, along with Leon Haslam, will spearhead Kawasaki UK’s assault on the MCE British Superbike Championship for the season.
And at just 24 he already has many years of racing experience. He began at the age of six and has not stopped winning races and championship titles ever since. He can already claim 11 championship wins to his name including the British Minibike Championship, which he won every year between 1999 and 2003.
Luke then progressed to 125cc bikes and successfully competed in, and won, both British and European titles in 2006 and 2007.
2009 saw Luke take another step up the racing ladder to the British Superstock 600 series. He had a phenomenal first year, which saw him turn professional in 2010 and enter the British Supersport Series.
He competed in Supersport until the end of the 2014 season. During his time in this series Luke achieved many podiums and career highs.
Mossey first entered the BSB Championship in 2015 and became part of the team led by Pete Extance of Bournemouth Kawasaki Racing. He instantly began to make a name for himself as a focused and determined rider, winning the BSB Riders’ Cup in his rookie year.
2016 was a breakout year for the Royston-based rider. In just his second season competing in the British Superbike Championship, he broke into the top six and competed in the Showdown. He also collected four podiums during the season – including a career best second place at Oulton Park.
He is completely focused on becoming the British and World Superbike Champion, which comes through in his racing and his professional attitude in the race paddock.
When away from the circuit Luke is committed to his family and friends and can often be found relaxing in the company of those he holds close. Approachable and down to earth, he’s popular in the paddock with fans of all ages and always makes time to share his enthusiasm.
Luke is also an ambassador for the Cool Fab Racing Minibike Championship where he encourages and works with the racers of the future.
