BSB leader Luke Mossey is looking to continue his fine start to the 2017 season this weekend in Snetterton.
Fresh from racing at Knockhill, Scotland, Mossey has a 30-point lead over JG Speedfit Kawasaki teammate Leon Haslam, who will be back in action for the weekend’s racing following his crash in free practice in the fourth round race.
Mossey achieved a second and fifth place in Scotland, although he feels he could’ve achieved more.
“Last weekend was good, but I wasn’t really happy with it overall. We took a gamble by putting hard tyres on in race one and then in race two I made a mistake,” said Mossey.
Already bettering last season’s racing, Mossey is keen to learn from his experiences and improve at each race. Having amassed a total of 141 points coming in to race five of the season, he has already achieved an impressive 81 points more than this time in 2016.
Raring to race again, Mossey is ready to tackle his home race in Norfolk and excite local fans and sponsors.
Speaking ahead of the race, Mossey said: “Snetterton isn’t one of my favourite tracks, although I think we’ll go well there. It’s my local track so it’s a popular one for us. The bike is pretty good and we won’t be changing much. I think we’ll turn up and just get going again.
“We’re going in a good direction and when we last tested here, things were good. I’ll dig in and really get going again and as always the aim is to keep picking up points and trying to win.”
For the first time in Mossey’s BSB career he has the rest of the riders chasing him in the Championship, and he will be looking to pick up more prestigious podium points this weekend.
